Non-Real Time Reliable Multicast Protocol Using Sub Sub-Casting
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper, a Reliable Multicast transport protocol over combined (fixed/mobile) networks using Sub Sub-casting called (RMSS) is proposed. RMSS is based on a hierarchical structure where receivers are grouped into local regions. In each local region there are special receivers, which are called Designated Receivers (DRs) and Mobile Agents (MAs). Each DR or MA is responsible for retransmission of requested packets to the receivers which belong to its local region. DRs and MAs send their acknowledgments periodically to the sender. They also process the acknowledgments sent to them from the Fixed Hosts (FHs) and Mobile Hosts (MHs) and they retransmit lost packets to the requesting receivers. A sub sub-casting technique is applied within these relatively smaller regions, where the repaired packets are retransmitted only to the requested receivers of the local group. These receivers form a sub group of the local group which itself is a subgroup of the global multicast group. By applying sub sub-casting technique the number of duplicated packets due to retransmission of packets drops to zero which improves the system performance. Simulations (using C++) have demonstrated the scalability of RMSS with sub sub-casting technique.

Evaluating Transport Protocols for Real-time Event Stream Processing Middleware and Applications
Real-time event stream processing (RT-ESP) applications must synchronize continuous data streams, e.g., infrared scans and video monitoring for survivor detection after a natural disaster, despite fluctuations in resource availability. Satisfying these needs of RT-ESP applications requires predictable QoS from the underlying publish/subscribe (pub/sub) middleware. If a transport protocol is not...
متن کاملA Reliable Multicast Transport Protocol for Communicating Real-Time Distributed Objects
The TMO (Time-triggered Message-triggered Object) model is a well-known real-time object model for distributed and timeliness-guaranteed computing. A distributed environment of the model may be configured by a number of the TMO nodes as a private network. It requires high reliability due to the feature of a distributed IPC message. The TCP seems to be suitable to this model. However, if a messa...
متن کاملA Source Tree Reliable Multicast Protocol for Ad-Hoc Networks (STRM)
Multicasting is an essential service for ad-hoc wireless networks. Many reliable multicast schemes were studied in order to reduce packet losses in the network. This paper describes our effort to build a source tree reliable multicast protocol for ad-hoc networks. Source tree reliable multicast protocol provides the delivery of an ordered contiguous sequence of data packets from one sender to m...

In this paper, we propose a lantern-tree-based QoS multicast protocol with reliable mechanism for wireless ad-hoc networks, where the MAC sub-layer is adopted the CDMA-over-TDMA channel model. In this paper, we identify a lantern-tree for developing on-demand QoS multicast protocol with reliable mechanism to satisfy certain bandwidth requirement from a source to a set of destination nodes. The ...
متن کاملGeneralized Data Naming and Scalable State Announcements for Reliable Multicast
Traditional ARQ-based reliable protocols for unicast (e.g., TCP) as well as multicast (e.g., Horus [24], RMTP [15], etc.) use sequential numbering of data units and detect losses from discontinuities in the sequence of received packets. The Application Level Framing (ALF) [7] model encourages application control over loss-detection and recovery. With sequence numbers, the application must expre...
